Mysterious Explosions Rock Syrian Arms Depots; Israel Not Sole Suspect

A series of five mysterious explosions have occurred at Syrian army weapons depots within the past two to three weeks, resulting in dozens of casualties in some incidents. Dr. Eadie Cohen, a Middle East expert, suggested that while Israel is often blamed, the perpetrators remain unknown and could include factions loyal to former Ba'shar al-Assad regime elements, ISIS members in conflict with the al-Julani leadership, or Israel itself. Cohen emphasized that the Syrian army has numerous enemies beyond Israel and cautioned against automatically assigning blame.

The latest explosion occurred in the Aleppo region, marking the fifth such incident recently. Cohen described the Syrian army as akin to ISIS, highlighting its many adversaries. He presented three main possibilities for the explosions: remnants of the previous Assad regime seeking to destabilize the current government, ISIS factions clashing with the al-Julani leadership, or Israel.

Currently, no definitive evidence has emerged to link any of these potential actors to the explosions. The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced an investigation into the circumstances of the blasts at one of the weapons storage facilities, stating that relevant authorities are working to determine the causes without disclosing further details about the munitions involved or the extent of the damage.
