Syria Investigates Suspected Israeli Role in Warehouse Explosions

Syrian authorities are investigating the possibility of Israeli involvement in a series of recent mysterious explosions targeting weapons depots and military sites across Syria, according to Kan channel. The probe follows powerful explosions that rocked a Syrian army weapons depot south of Aleppo early yesterday, triggering secondary blasts and sending stored missiles flying. Syria's Ministry of Defense announced an investigation into the circumstances of the explosions, promising to release the findings soon. A Syrian source close to the authorities told Kan that Damascus is considering Israeli culpability in these incidents, though no official public accusation has been made.

The Aleppo depot explosion is the third such incident in less than two weeks in different Syrian regions. Recently, over ten Syrian soldiers were killed in an explosion at a military site in the Deir Ezzor region in eastern Syria. An explosion at a weapons depot near Idlib also resulted in casualties. The latest Aleppo blast reportedly injured several people but caused no fatalities. Approximately a month ago, Israel conducted a raid on the Al-Dhahir airbase in northwestern Syria, an attack for which Damascus officially blamed Israel.
