Dozens of Israelis Fall Ill at Luxury Seychelles Resort

A dream vacation for dozens of Israeli tourists at the luxury Club Med resort in the Seychelles has turned into a nightmare, with many guests suffering severe symptoms including high fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. The outbreak has confined many to their rooms, with some requiring urgent medical attention and intravenous fluids at the hotel's overwhelmed clinic.

A dispute has erupted over the cause of the illness. Israeli tourists believe it to be a severe case of food poisoning originating from one of the resort's restaurants, where most of the sick guests dined. However, local medical staff and the hotel management deny responsibility, claiming the tourists arrived already carrying a virus from Israel.

This assertion has angered the guests, who point out that several European tourists are also among the sick, weakening the 'Israeli disease' theory. Beyond the health crisis, tourists are complaining about the resort management's "deplorable" treatment since the outbreak began. They claim the hotel stopped supplying bottled water, refused to change linens and towels despite pleas from the sick, and even blocked additional doctors from entering the premises.

A representative for Club Med in Israel stated that initial tests have ruled out bacterial contamination and that the possibility of the illness originating in Israel is under investigation. The company assured that they are monitoring the situation and cooperating with medical authorities to assist guests, whose health is their top priority.
