Dozens of Israelis Fall Ill With Diarrhea and Vomiting at Seychelles Resort

Dozens of Israeli tourists vacationing at the Club Med Seychelles resort in the Seychelles islands last week suffered severe symptoms including fever, diarrhea, and vomiting. A WhatsApp group created to track the illnesses grew to include 39 individuals reporting these symptoms, according to a report by the Hebrew website "Mako".

One vacationer recounted arriving on a Wednesday and experiencing symptoms by Friday evening, along with his father. He stated that a doctor from a central island provided them with intravenous treatment and suggested the source of their illness might be from Israel. He was transported by boat for medical care. Other Israeli vacationers suspect one of the resort's restaurants as the source of the outbreak.

Club Med issued a statement acknowledging the situation, noting that tests so far have not indicated a specific cause of contamination. The resort stated that the source of the illnesses is not yet definitively clear and they are investigating the possibility of an Israeli origin. They emphasized their commitment to guest health and safety and are cooperating with health authorities. The resort's medical staff are providing continuous care to affected guests.
