Maccabi Tel Aviv's Big Offer Rejected by Hagi Amid Marseille Agreement

Romanian media reports that Maccabi Tel Aviv submitted a significant contract offer to midfielder Ianis Hagi, but the player ultimately refused. Hagi, son of Romanian football legend Gheorghe Hagi, currently plays for Alanyaspor and was reportedly offered a deal worth one million euros by the Israeli club. However, he declined the offer due to a prior verbal agreement with French club Marseille.

According to reports from "Fanatik," Hagi, 27, has a preliminary understanding with Marseille and has a 90% chance of joining them in January. The report states that Maccabi Tel Aviv's offer was a "super contract," but the deal fell through because Hagi had already reached terms with the French giants. The effort made by Maccabi Tel Aviv was considerable, but Hagi's prior commitment to Marseille led to the rejection of the Israeli offer.

Hagi began his career in his father's academy and has previously played for notable clubs including Fiorentina, Genk, Rangers, and Alavés. He has also earned 54 caps and scored eight goals for the Romanian national team.
