Maccabi Tel Aviv's Bid for Rapid Bucharest Midfielder Rejected
Maccabi Tel Aviv attempted to sign a foreign player before the transfer window closed but ultimately failed, with Yon Nikulescu remaining at the club. Reports from Romania on Thursday indicate that Maccabi Tel Aviv submitted a €1.5 million offer to Rapid Bucharest for midfielder Claudiu Petrila. However, the Romanian club declined the offer for the player, who scored five goals and provided eight assists last season. Additionally, Maccabi Tel Aviv reportedly offered Petrila a net monthly salary of €25,000. Maccabi Haifa had previously expressed interest in the player. Petrila joined Rapid Bucharest from CFR Cluj for €800,000 and has since made 105 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals and assisting 31. He also has two caps for the Romanian national team.
