Maccabi Tel Aviv's Bid for Claudiu Petrila Rejected by Rapid Bucharest

Maccabi Tel Aviv attempted to sign a foreign player before the transfer window closed but ultimately failed, with Yon Nikolescu remaining at the club instead of moving to Hapoel Ramat Gan. Reports from Romania on Thursday indicate that Maccabi Tel Aviv submitted a €1.5 million offer to Rapid Bucharest for midfielder Claudiu Petrila. However, the Romanian club declined to sell the player, who scored five goals and provided eight assists last season. Maccabi Tel Aviv also reportedly offered Petrila a net monthly salary of €25,000. It was also mentioned that Maccabi Haifa had previously shown interest in the player. Petrila joined Rapid Bucharest from Cluj for €800,000 and has since made 105 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals and assisting 31. He also has two caps for the Romanian national team.
