Israeli security sources have expressed growing concern within the military and intelligence communities regarding the possibility of Houthi attacks targeting Israel, which could draw the region into a wider conflict. According to the Hebrew website Walla, citing sources, the Israeli military is considering a scenario where the Yemeni group might launch missile or drone attacks against Israel, potentially as a diversion from the Saudi front. Such an escalation, the sources warned, could ignite a chain reaction leading to renewed direct conflict with Iran and possibly drawing in the United States.

These developments occur amidst unprecedented escalation between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, with the group launching ballistic missiles and drones targeting sensitive sites in Riyadh and Aramco facilities. Saudi Arabia has confirmed intercepting ballistic missiles over its capital. In response, Israel has reportedly increased readiness levels in its air force and air defense systems, updated early warning models within military intelligence, and briefed political leadership on the risks.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly shortened a planned visit to the United States from several days to just a few hours due to the heightened tensions. Hebrew media reports also indicate behind-the-scenes diplomatic and security communications, with the Israeli political echelon agreeing to provide Saudi Arabia with intelligence on Houthi movements, mediated by the U.S.

Currently, Washington is maintaining a non-direct involvement, having received assurances from the Houthis that U.S. interests will not be targeted as long as the U.S. remains out of the conflict. U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Washington is in continuous communication with the Houthi group, Ansar Allah, and that they have agreed not to engage in combat against the United States.
