IDF Boosts Readiness Across All Fronts Ahead of Yom Kippur

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has completed extensive operational preparations ahead of Yom Kippur, which begins Tuesday evening, raising alert levels across all theaters. Forces have been reinforced in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria, and Judea and Samaria, with additional units placed on standby. This heightened readiness follows a month-long planning process involving senior IDF, Shin Bet, police, and prison service officials.

A military source stated that this year's preparations are more stringent than last year's, with a particular emphasis on defense along borders and within cities. "We are prepared in all arenas, including against Iran, and in constant readiness to move from a ceasefire to resuming combat, both defensively and offensively," the source said.

Over the weekend, units and reserves were reorganized, war games were conducted simulating surprise scenarios, and dedicated reinforcements were deployed. The IDF maintains full operational activity without any reduction in forces. In the north, efforts continue to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure and tunnels, alongside preparations for potential renewed fighting.

The IDF is also preparing for surprise attacks during Yom Kippur with reinforced forces, available reserves, and plans for a rapid transition from defense to offense. A military official summarized the readiness posture by stating, "If we are surprised, we will not be defeated."
