IDF Bolsters Forces Across All Fronts for Yom Kippur Holiday

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is implementing heightened security measures and reinforcing troop presence across all operational fronts in anticipation of the Yom Kippur holiday. These preparations, directed by IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi, supplement the existing force deployments.

Troop levels in the Northern, Central, and Southern Commands will be augmented with dedicated companies. Senior commanders will be stationed in each sector throughout the holiday. The Air Force is increasing its readiness with a larger number of "quipped" aircraft, while the Navy will deploy additional missile ships and enhance its routine security vessel presence at the borders.

The Home Front Command will have a duty general at its headquarters and a duty district commander in each of its districts during the holiday. The IDF will also bolster reserve companies available for deployment to various commands based on evolving situations and establish general staff readiness divisions by sector.

IDF officials emphasized that these reinforcements are additional measures and do not replace the forces already deployed in the sectors. The aim is to provide an extra layer of security and readiness for the holiday period.
