Israel Defense Forces Raise Alert Levels Ahead of Yom Kippur
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the completion of operational preparations and an increase in alert levels across various fronts as Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, began on Sunday evening. Hebrew media reported that forces deployed in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria, and Judea and Samaria have been reinforced, with additional units placed on standby. A military source stated that the IDF is prepared in all arenas, including against Iran, and maintains constant readiness to transition from a ceasefire to resuming combat, both defensively and offensively. The source added that the IDF possesses means that can be activated immediately, alongside plans for long-term military operations. In the north, defensive measures continue alongside operations aimed at destroying Hezbollah infrastructure and tunnels, with ongoing preparations for the possibility of returning to combat.
