Health Ministry Halts Use of Specific Similac Hospital Formula Batch
Israel's Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday a precautionary halt to the use of a specific batch of "Similac" formula intended exclusively for hospitals. The decision followed a single complaint received on Monday evening concerning batch number 89203N201, which is printed on the bottom of the container. This particular batch is distributed only to hospitals and is not available for retail sale, pending the completion of an investigation.
Currently, the ministry stated, there is only one reported complaint, and no other reports have been received regarding any health issues linked to the product. Abbott, the manufacturer, is working to supply hospitals with an alternative batch.
These instructions apply solely to the specified batch, and no restrictions have been placed on other Similac batches. The ministry emphasized that the measure is a precautionary step while the examination is underway.
