Health Ministry Halts Use of Specific Similac Batch in Hospitals
Israel's Ministry of Health has ordered a temporary halt to the use of a specific batch of Similac infant formula, designated solely for hospital distribution and not available in retail stores. The decision was made as a precautionary measure following a single complaint received late yesterday concerning the product.
The affected batch, identified by the code 89203N201 printed on the bottom of the bottle, will remain suspended pending the completion of an investigation. This particular batch was exclusively supplied to hospitals and is not sold in any commercial outlets.
At present, the ministry has stated that only one complaint has been reported, and there have been no reports of any health issues arising from its use. The manufacturer, Abbott, is reportedly taking steps to provide hospitals with an alternative batch of the product.
The ministry emphasized that this suspension applies exclusively to batch 89203N201, and there are no restrictions on the use of any other Similac batches.
