Health Ministry Halts Use of Similac Formula Batch After Single Complaint
Israel's Ministry of Health has ordered an immediate halt to the use of a specific batch of Similac infant formula, following a single complaint. The ministry stressed that this batch (number 89203N201) is exclusively supplied to hospitals and is not available for retail purchase. This precautionary measure comes shortly after a widespread recall of Nutricia's "Nutrilon" formula, which caused significant parental concern.
The decision to freeze the use of the Similac batch was made as a precautionary step after a solitary complaint was received on Saturday. Health officials emphasized that this is the only complaint received thus far and, crucially, there have been no reports of infants experiencing medical issues after consuming the product. The ministry clarified that the directive applies only to this specific batch, and other Similac formulas available on the market are not affected and pose no risk.
