Kanal 11 Director Itzik Barashi Dies in Bicycle Accident

Itzik Barashi, a director in the news division of the Kan 11 public broadcaster, died Saturday morning in a bicycle accident on Highway 44 near the Nesherim interchange. Barashi, 54, joined Kan 11 shortly after its establishment in 2018 and was a key part of its news division, covering both routine broadcasts and the ongoing war.

Kan 11's news division eulogized Barashi as "one of the most professional and talented directors," expressing deep sorrow over his death. They highlighted his professionalism and commitment throughout his years with the broadcaster, in both peacetime and wartime.

Journalist Ayala Hasson, who was scheduled to work with Barashi on the day of his death, shared her grief, describing him as a "beloved director" and a "good person, a friend." She noted he was a devoted family man, husband to Shirley, and father to three children: Keran, Roi, and Itai. Hasson expressed her personal pain, stating, "My heart aches. He was supposed to work with me today, as in countless broadcasts."

Barashi's colleagues remembered him for his professionalism, dedication, and personality, which left a significant impact on the news division during his tenure. His passing has left his colleagues at the broadcaster in mourning.
