These fraudulent messages are reportedly sophisticated, sometimes including genuine booking details such as stay dates and reservation numbers, which can enhance their credibility. The Cyber Directorate advises the public not to click on links within these suspicious messages.
Instead, individuals should verify their bookings directly through the official Booking.com website or app. If credit card details have been entered into a fraudulent site, users are urged to contact their credit card company immediately and report the incident to the National Cyber Directorate's hotline at 119.
