National Cyber Directorate Warns of Booking.com Phishing Scams
Israel's National Cyber Directorate has issued a warning regarding phishing attempts impersonating the hotel booking website Booking.com. The directorate reported receiving complaints about messages containing links to fake websites designed to mimic Booking.com. These fraudulent messages often instruct recipients to confirm hotel reservations.
In some instances, the scam messages include legitimate booking details, such as stay dates and reservation numbers, which can lend an air of authenticity and make the fraud harder to detect. The directorate urges the public not to click on links within these suspicious messages.
Instead, users are advised to verify their bookings directly through the official Booking.com website or app. The National Cyber Directorate also encourages reporting any suspicious messages to their hotline at 119.
