OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Advertising Platform in Israel

By רני בן שאול

The story · English

OpenAI has expanded its ChatGPT advertising platform, Ads Manager, to include Israel and other Middle Eastern countries. The company announced that businesses in the region can now create, run, and manage advertising campaigns directly within the ChatGPT chatbot. While OpenAI has begun reaching out to advertisers in Israel, a specific date for when users will start seeing ads has not yet been announced.

The Ads Manager system, which allows for campaign creation, management, and performance tracking, is now listed as available in Israel on OpenAI's website. This move follows an earlier expansion of the advertising service to dozens of countries, with Israel initially being excluded. The platform is now officially available in the region alongside the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait.

OpenAI's advertising initiative began in the United States in February, after a January pilot program that introduced ads to adult users on the free and lower-cost Go subscription tiers. At the time, OpenAI stated that ads would appear at the bottom of chatbot responses, be clearly marked, and would not be shown to Plus, Pro, and Enterprise subscribers. The company also committed that advertising would not influence response content and that user data would not be sold to advertisers.

Since the pilot phase, OpenAI's advertising business has grown significantly, reaching an annual revenue run rate of $1 billion within 200 days by the end of August.
