Israel Braces for Heatwave Relief as Rain and Cooler Temperatures Arrive

Israel is experiencing unusually high temperatures for this time of year, with Thursday expected to be clear and hot across most regions. The heat will be particularly intense in the Jordan Valley, the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea, and the Arava desert, where extreme heat conditions are forecast. The UV index will be high to very high, and the Mediterranean Sea will have moderate waves.

Beginning Friday morning, localized rain is expected in northern Israel and along the coastal plain. The weather will become partly cloudy with a significant drop in temperatures, especially in the mountains and inland areas, bringing them back to seasonal norms. Throughout Friday, northern and central Israel may see scattered showers, with a possibility of isolated thunderstorms in the north. Winds are also predicted to strengthen in most areas.

Saturday will remain partly cloudy with little change in temperatures. Light, localized rain or drizzle might persist in the north and along the coast until the afternoon.

By Sunday, the eve of Yom Kippur, the morning will be partly cloudy, clearing to fair weather later in the day. Temperatures will rise slightly but remain seasonal for most regions.
