Israel Braces for Continued Heatwave with High Temperatures Expected

Israel is set to experience largely clear skies on Thursday, September 17, with temperatures remaining above seasonal averages across most of the country. The weather will be hotter than usual and dry, particularly in mountainous and inland areas. Along the coastal plain, conditions are expected to be typically humid and muggy.

Temperatures in Jerusalem will reach 32°C during the day and drop to 20°C at night. Tel Aviv and Netanya will see highs of 31°C and lows of 24°C. Ariel will experience 33°C daytime temperatures and 21°C at night, while Haifa will have a high of 31°C and a low of 23°C.

Further north, Afula, Kiryat Shmona, and Katzrin on the Golan Heights will all reach 36°C during the day, with nighttime lows around 21-23°C. Safed will also see a daytime high of 33°C and a nighttime low of 21°C. Tiberias, near the Sea of Galilee, is forecast to be the hottest city with a daytime temperature of 38°C and a nighttime low of 23°C.

In the southern regions, Ashdod and Ashkelon will have highs of 32°C and lows of 23°C. Kiryat Gat will reach 36°C during the day and 19°C at night. Be'er Sheva and Arad will both experience daytime temperatures of 37°C and nighttime lows of 21°C. The Dead Sea area, specifically Ein Gedi, will have a high of 35°C and a low of 20°C. Eilat will also see similar temperatures, with a daytime high of 35°C and a nighttime low of 20°C.
