Israir Plans Direct Flights From Israel to Japan

Israeli airline Israir is planning to launch direct flights to Japan, marking a significant expansion of its route network. The airline has initiated the necessary licensing process to operate flights to the Asian country, according to Channel 14, citing Israir Group CEO Uri Sirkis. Sirkis announced these plans during the company's inaugural direct flight to New York, which landed at John F. Kennedy Airport. He described the New York route's successful launch as a major milestone, with the company aiming for further growth.

Israir also intends to open direct flights to Thailand in the near future. This expansion into long-haul routes has been facilitated by substantial investments in the airline's fleet. The company has invested $85 million in acquiring wide-body aircraft, enhancing its capacity to serve distant destinations previously out of reach due to fleet limitations.

In parallel with fleet expansion, Israir is investing in related infrastructure, including technological systems, customer service, and technical facilities. Notably, the company has allocated over $10 million to establish its own aircraft heavy maintenance facility in Larnaca. Israir emphasizes the critical role of its staff in the company's successful development.
