Israir Launches Daily Flights to New York, Eyes Japan Route

Israeli airline Israir launched its new route to New York City on Tuesday with three weekly flights. Starting in November, the airline, owned by Rami Levy, will increase service to a daily flight on this route. Concurrently, Israir has begun the licensing process to operate flights to Japan.

This expansion follows Israir's acquisition of operational specifications from the Civil Aviation Authority in late July, granting permission to conduct long-haul commercial flights using Airbus A330 aircraft. The airline had previously faced operational hurdles with its newly launched route to Marrakech, Morocco. The Marrakech airport initially denied Israir flight rights, leading to a temporary freeze of the service.

However, following intervention from the Civil Aviation Authority and the Israeli Liaison Office in Morocco, Israir secured the necessary flight rights, allowing the Marrakech route to resume.
