IDF Parachutes and Military Gear Suspected Stolen Found Near Prison
Six Israeli military parachutes, along with a backpack and helmet suspected of being stolen from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), were discovered during a search in the Lahav Forest in southern Israel, near the Eshel Prison. The discovery was made Tuesday by officers from the Lehavim police station and detectives from the Prison Service's intelligence unit.
The forces were conducting a search for hidden weapons and military equipment in the area. The search included the use of bomb-sniffing dogs. The parachutes were found alongside the backpack and helmet, all believed to be stolen IDF property.
Explosives disposal experts were called to the scene and safely destroyed the parachutes. The other equipment was collected for further investigation. Police are currently investigating how the military equipment arrived in the forest, who hid it, and its intended purpose. The circumstances surrounding the concealment of the equipment are under examination.
