IDF Parachutes and Military Gear Seized in Lahav Forest Raid

Israeli police and prison service forces conducted a targeted search operation in Lahav Forest on Tuesday, uncovering six standard Israeli military parachutes and military equipment suspected of being stolen from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The seized items included a backpack and a helmet.

The operation, which involved police officers from the Ha'Ayrot station in the Southern District and detectives from the Prison Service's intelligence unit, aimed to locate weapons and military equipment hidden in the area. Explosives detection dogs assisted in the search.

The parachutes were handed over to the Southern District's sapper unit, which safely destroyed them in a controlled manner. Investigators from the Ha'Ayrot station are continuing to examine the findings and the circumstances surrounding their concealment.

This operation is part of a broader enforcement effort by security forces. Recent similar operations include the arrest of nine individuals wanted for prison sentences in the Northern District two weeks ago, and the seizure of explosives and grenades stolen from the IDF in Tayibe at the end of August.

Authorities stated that the Southern District police and the Prison Service will continue their collaborative efforts to locate weapons, thwart criminal activity, and maintain public safety.
