Israeli Police Seize Stolen IDF Weapons in Ramla Shelter During Crackdown

Israeli police uncovered a cache of stolen military weapons in a residential shelter in Ramla on Monday morning. The Central District Unit detectives, alongside canine unit officers, found a LAW missile, four pistols, and four fragmentation grenades suspected to have been stolen from the Israel Defense Forces. This seizure was part of a proactive police operation targeting illegal arms possession following recent shooting and stabbing incidents in Ramla and nearby Zemer.

A man in his twenties from Lod was arrested on suspicion of holding the weapons and was transferred for interrogation. Police intend to request an extension of his detention at the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion. The seized arms were sent to the police forensic laboratories for further examination. Investigators are tracing the weapons' path from the alleged theft from the IDF to their concealment in the shelter, aiming to identify their intended recipients and any additional suspects involved.

Central District Commander Amir Cohen described the operation as a significant achievement, emphasizing the removal of dangerous weapons that could have been used by criminals for serious offenses. He affirmed the police's commitment to continue determined efforts to bring all involved to justice and ensure public safety and security.
