Anti-Tank Missile Found in Ramla Residential Area; Police Cite IDF Arms Leak

An anti-tank missile was discovered on Thursday in a residential complex in Ramla during a police operation to locate illegal weapons. A local resident was arrested and is being questioned as authorities investigate how the missile arrived at the location and its origin. The operation involved officers from the Shfela Special Patrol Unit, detectives from the Central District, Border Police from the Sharon region, and officers from the Ramla station.

The police stated that the seizure is part of an ongoing effort to combat the illicit transfer of weapons from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to criminal elements. A senior police official commented to Walla News, "Criminal organizations are arming themselves at the expense of the IDF; we must wake up."

In a separate operation in Lod, officers from the Shfela region, alongside detectives from the Lod station, seized six magazines and hundreds of rounds of ammunition of various types. A suspect present at the scene was detained for questioning. Both operations were conducted under the auspices of the Central District's Task Force Command, which focuses on combating crime hotspots and violent disputes within the Arab community. The police emphasized their commitment to locating and confiscating illegal weapons and ammunition to prevent them from falling into the hands of criminals.
