Israeli Police Uncover Cache of Illegal Weapons Near Rameh in Northern Israel
Since the beginning of the year, over 590 lethal weapons have been seized in Israel's Northern District, with armed suspects caught in the act as part of ongoing efforts to combat violent crime. On August 26, during a nighttime operation near the village of Rameh in the Galilee, Northern District police forces intensified their search for illegal arms using metal detectors and other detection tools in open terrain. The special Yasam unit discovered a hidden cache concealed among rocks containing six grenade launchers, numerous magazines for Kalashnikov rifles and M16s, and a large quantity of ammunition. Authorities suspect the weapons were stashed for use in criminal activities. The Israel Police affirmed their commitment to continue rigorous enforcement against violent crime and illegal arms possession to protect public safety and ensure offenders face justice.
