Northern Israel Police Uncover Cache of Grenades and Magazines Near Rameh Village
During a nighttime operation in an open area near the village of Rameh in the Galilee, Northern District police officers discovered a hidden cache of weapons. The search, conducted by the district's Yasam unit using metal detectors and other equipment, uncovered six grenade launchers, numerous magazines for Kalashnikov rifles, M16 magazines, and a large amount of ammunition concealed among rocks. Authorities suspect the weapons were stashed for use in criminal activities.
The police emphasized that since the beginning of the year, over 590 lethal weapons have been seized in the Northern District, with several suspects caught armed during ongoing enforcement efforts. This discovery is part of a broader campaign to locate illegal arms and prevent shootings and crime in the region.
