Israeli Police Seize Weapons Cache in Rahat Thanks to Police Dog Anna

On August 3, 2026, Israeli police and Southern Border Guard fighters uncovered a weapons cache in Rahat during a targeted operation linked to a family feud in the Al-Huzail Bedouin community. The raid, led by Rahat police detectives and aided by the police dog Anna, involved searching a residential compound where three M16 rifles, ammunition, five magazines, and weapon parts were found hidden inside a home.

Two suspects in their 30s, residents of Rahat, were arrested at the scene and taken for further questioning at the Rahat police station. This seizure is part of a series of recent police efforts to combat family conflicts and crime in Rahat. Over the past weekend, authorities arrested 24 suspects following a violent clash between factions in the city, during which two officers were injured by stone-throwing.

Subsequent raids on residential areas linked to the same conflict also uncovered additional weapons caches in the Bedouin community. The police dog Anna played a crucial role in locating the hidden arms, highlighting the ongoing police commitment to restoring order in the region.
