Military Equipment, Flares Found Hidden in Lahav Forest
Police and Prison Service forces conducted a joint operation in the Lahav Forest on Tuesday, uncovering hidden military equipment suspected of being stolen from the IDF. The search, which involved explosives detection dogs, located six standard Israeli military flares, along with a backpack and helmet.
The discovered items had been concealed within the forest. Following the find, the Southern District's bomb disposal unit was called to the scene and safely destroyed the flares in a controlled detonation.
Investigators from the Lehavim police station have launched an inquiry into how the equipment was hidden and its origins. Both the police and the Prison Service emphasized their continued commitment to collaborating on locating illegal weaponry and safeguarding public safety.
