i24NEWS Anchor Noa Dori Departs "Cabinet" for New Program

Noa Dori, a news anchor for i24NEWS, announced on Wednesday that she will be stepping down from her role as anchor of the "Cabinet" Friday evening news program in the coming months. Dori stated that her departure is not immediate and she will continue to host "Cabinet" through the upcoming election period. Following the elections, she will launch a new program on i24NEWS.

In a lengthy Twitter post, Dori explained that two years ago she accepted an offer to be a part of a "media revolution," aiming to represent the "traditional, Zionist, Israel-loving public" with a Friday edition that spoke to their values. She acknowledged the personal challenges of balancing this role with family life, especially on Fridays and given her travel between central Israel and the distant north. After much internal deliberation, she felt ready to make a decision.

Dori informed Moshe Harush, the editor of "Cabinet," and Yisrael Toito, the channel's director, of her decision. They jointly agreed she would continue until after the elections. She expressed pride in being the first anchor of "Cabinet," which she described as a groundbreaking program that has become the second most-watched Friday evening news edition, despite regulatory limitations. She believes the program, under Harush and Toito, will eventually become the most-watched.

Dori thanked Toito for choosing her, Ronit Ganon-Amit for her support, Frank Malul for their shared journey, and Vice President Ido Einbinder for his professional guidance and friendship. She admitted the decision was difficult, involving much consultation and thought about the program's importance and her professional standing. However, her current priority is her family and the "Sabbath table with my children and husband."

She reassured viewers that the farewell is not immediate and that she will continue to anchor "Cabinet" during the dramatic upcoming political period, expressing confidence in its continued relevance. Dori concluded by stating this is just the beginning and that she will be seen on i24NEWS in a different capacity with a new program currently in development, inviting viewers to tune in this Friday for "Cabinet."
