i24NEWS Anchor Naveh Dromi to Depart Friday Program for New Show

Naveh Dromi, a prominent news anchor at i24NEWS, announced on Wednesday that she will be stepping down from her role as host of the "Cabinet" Friday evening news program in the coming months. Dromi clarified that her departure from the program will not be immediate, and she will continue to host "Cabinet" through the upcoming election period.

Following the elections, Dromi is set to launch a new program on i24NEWS. She shared her decision on Twitter, reflecting on her two-year tenure during which she aimed to create a "media revolution" and provide a Friday broadcast that resonated with Israel's "traditional, Zionist, Israel-loving public" and their values. Dromi cited personal challenges balancing her demanding work schedule, particularly on Fridays and with her family located in the northern Israel, as a factor in her decision.

In discussions with "Cabinet" editor Moshe Harush and channel director Israel Taitu, Dromi expressed her inability to continue in the role indefinitely. The decision was made collaboratively to have her remain until after the crucial elections, after which she would vacate the hosting position.

Dromi expressed pride in being the inaugural host of "Cabinet," a program she believes has significantly impacted the Friday evening news landscape. Despite regulatory limitations preventing its broadcast in every Israeli home, "Cabinet" has become the second most-watched Friday evening edition, and Dromi is confident it will become the most-watched under Harush and Taitu's leadership.

She thanked numerous colleagues, including Harush, Taitu, Ronit Ganon-Amit, Frank Malul, and Idan Einbinder, for their support and collaboration. She also extended deep gratitude to the "Cabinet" team, describing them as dedicated and passionate. Dromi reiterated that while the separation is difficult, she is excited about her new role and will continue to appear on i24NEWS with a new program currently in development. Her final "Cabinet" broadcast is scheduled for the upcoming Friday.
