Poll Shows Likud Slightly Down, Netanyahu Leads PM Race
A new poll conducted by NEXT DATA for Israel's Channel 14 indicates stability in the overall political landscape, with the center-right bloc maintaining a solid 64 seats in the Knesset. The center-left bloc holds 44 seats, and Arab parties collectively have 12 seats. The Likud party remains the largest single party, though it has seen a slight decrease, dropping from 31 to 30 seats. The National Unity party, led by Gadi Eisenkot, also experienced a minor decline, falling from 22 to 21 seats.
Conversely, the Democratic party, associated with Naftali Bennett, and United Torah Judaism each gained one seat, reaching unspecified totals. In terms of leadership, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to lead significantly in personal approval ratings, with 51% of respondents supporting him, unchanged from the previous poll. Gadi Eisenkot's support rose to 35%, while Naftali Bennett garnered 9% and Avigdor Lieberman received 5%.
In a hypothetical direct contest for prime minister, Netanyahu maintains his lead over Eisenkot with 53% to 47%. The poll, which surveyed 483 respondents and was analyzed by pollster Shlomo Filber on September 15, suggests a consistent status quo in the preferences of Israeli voters.
