Musician Yonatan Razel was discharged Friday morning from Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem and returned home after about three weeks in hospital. The hospital said he had been admitted earlier this month after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage, and his condition was initially described as serious.
During his stay, Razel was treated by neurology and neurosurgery teams, including the neurological intensive care unit, the neuro-radiology unit and the neurosurgery department. The hospital said that following the treatment he received, Razel has returned to normal, full functioning.
Razel’s family said they were “full of gratitude for the visible miracles,” thanking the people of Israel for their prayers and concern, and offering special thanks to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center staff for their devoted care. The hospital administration said it welcomed Razel and his family on his release and wished him full health and continued creativity.
Razel, 53, is considered one of the leading creators in Jewish and Israeli music. Over his career he released songs that became hits, including “Vehi She’amda,” “K’tanti,” and “Pot’ach Lev.” He comes from a musical family that includes his brother Aharon Razel, his sister Rika Razel, and his cousin, violinist Nitzan-Chen Razel.
