Singer and composer Yonatan Razel was discharged this morning, Friday, from Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center and returned home in good condition after several weeks in the hospital following a brain hemorrhage. The hospital said he has “returned to full function.”
Razel’s family thanked the public and medical staff in a statement released after his discharge. “We are filled with gratitude to the Holy One, blessed be He, for the open miracles He has done for us,” they said. “Many thanks to the people of Israel for the prayers and concern for Yonatan’s well-being. A special and great thank you to the entire team at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, the doctors and nurses, for their devoted care.”
Razel is married to Yael and is the father of eight children. He lives in Geva Binyamin and is considered one of the leading and most respected figures in Jewish and Israeli music in recent decades.
In recent weeks he released a new single, “Hayinu Kecholmim,” based on a chapter from Psalms, which he composed and arranged with Gilad Shmueli. Last summer, he appeared as a featured singer at the International Klezmer Festival in Safed.
