Ex-Mossad Chief Yossi Cohen Joins Quantum Tech Firm Quantum X Labs
Former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen has been appointed president of the scientific advisory board at Quantum X Labs, a company specializing in quantum technology, digital advertising, and AI solutions. The appointment, announced Tuesday, marks a significant move for Cohen into the elite technology sector.
Cohen, who led the Mossad intelligence agency from 2016 to 2021 and previously served as National Security Advisor from 2013 to 2016, will concurrently hold his role as a strategic advisor to the investment giant SoftBank, a position he assumed in August 2026. In his new capacity, he will provide strategic scientific guidance and oversee the company's technological direction.
His responsibilities will include focusing on developing applications for the defense sector and critical infrastructure. Cohen will collaborate with leading researchers, including Professor Oren Corland from the Technion and Professor Oren Raz from the Weizmann Institute of Science, who are also part of the advisory board.
The collaboration aims to guide the company's initiatives in quantum computing, quantum error correction, quantum software development, quantum cybersecurity, and quantum sensing technologies. Quantum X Labs and its subsidiaries operate in various fields, including quantum technology, digital advertising, and AI computing solutions for organizations.
Cohen stated that he chose Quantum X Labs due to its "rare combination of exceptional human capital and significant technological potential." Yaki Berns, co-CEO of Quantum X Labs, added that Cohen's appointment is timely as the company is testing unique capabilities like quantum sensing for navigation and timing, a quantum error correction decoder, and quantum cybersecurity in real-world applications.
