Israel is set to experience a significant weather shift by the end of the week, moving from intense heat to cooler temperatures accompanied by unseasonably strong rainfall, according to the meteorological service. The current hot and dry conditions, particularly in the country's interior, are expected to persist through Wednesday and Thursday, September 16th and 17th. Daytime temperatures in Jerusalem are forecast to reach 33-35 degrees Celsius, while the Ha'Shfela region could see highs of 37-38 degrees Celsius, with very low humidity.

By Friday, September 18th, a noticeable drop in temperature is anticipated across the country. The northern and central regions of Israel are likely to experience rain starting Friday morning and potentially continuing through Saturday evening. The meteorological service predicts these rains could be unusually heavy for September, with some areas receiving 5 to 10 millimeters of precipitation.

This amount is significantly higher than the typical September average for these regions, which usually receives only 2 to 3 millimeters of rain for the entire month. The forecast includes specific temperature predictions for various cities, including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Eilat, highlighting the widespread nature of the heatwave before the expected change.
