Vizhnitz Rebbe Undergoes Successful Heart Pacemaker Surgery at Hadassah
The Vizhnitz Rebbe successfully underwent a heart pacemaker implantation procedure on Thursday at Jerusalem's Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center. The surgery was performed by Professor David Luria, director of the cardiac arrhythmia unit. Thousands of Vizhnitz Hasidim had been praying for the Rebbe's recovery.
The Rebbe was admitted to the hospital earlier on Thursday for the planned procedure. The previous evening, he had attended the engagement celebration of his granddaughter. Medical staff indicated that the Rebbe will remain hospitalized for observation and monitoring in the coming days.
Following his hospital stay, the Rebbe is expected to recuperate at a residence in Ora, a community near Jerusalem. He is anticipated to return to his home in Bnei Brak's Kiryat Vizhnitz before Yom Kippur.
Prayers for the Rebbe, identified as Rabbi Yisrael son of Leah Esther, continue among the Jewish community for his full recovery.
