Vizhnitz Rebbe to Undergo Heart Pacemaker Surgery at Hadassah

By משה ויסברג
Translated & summarized from Behadrei Haredim by baba
The story · English

The Vizhnitz Rebbe is scheduled to undergo a pacemaker implantation surgery on Tuesday morning at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem. The procedure, which was initially planned before Rosh Hashanah, was postponed at the Rebbe's request until after the holiday.

A statement from the Rebbe's household announced, "God willing, tomorrow, Tuesday, at 8:30 AM, our master, our teacher, may he live long, will undergo a special medical procedure at the hospital. The public of Anshei Shlomo and all of the House of Israel are asked to pray extensively for his merit and complete recovery, that we may merit the fulfillment of the verse, 'Through me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you, for our good all the days.'"

Prayer services will be held at 8:30 AM in the "Ohel Raboteinu" tent, at the Western Wall, and in the holy site of Meron, according to the Hasidic community. The public is urged to pray and invoke heavenly mercy for the recovery of the Rebbe, Rabbi Yisrael ben Leah Esther.

During Rosh Hashanah, the Rebbe led all the prayers for his thousands of followers, despite his illness. "Mi Sheberach" blessings for the Rebbe's recovery were recited in all the courts of the Rebbes.
