Vizhnitz Rebbe to Undergo Heart Pacemaker Implantation at Hadassah
The Vizhnitz Rebbe is scheduled to be admitted to the cardiology department at Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem on Tuesday for the implantation of a pacemaker. The procedure, which was planned before Rosh Hashanah, was postponed at the Rebbe's request to take place after the High Holidays. During Rosh Hashanah, the Rebbe led prayers for his thousands of followers. Many Hasidic courts held prayers for his recovery.
According to a statement from the Rebbe's household, the treatment is expected to begin at 8:30 AM. "The public and all of Israel are asked to pray extensively for his merit and complete recovery," the statement read. In parallel with the treatment time, central prayer gatherings will be held at the Ohel of the Rebbes, at the Western Wall, and in the holy site of Meron.
The public is called upon to pray for the recovery of the Rebbe, Rabbi Yisrael ben Leah Esther, among all the sick of Israel.
