Couple Scammed by Fake Airport Parking Service at Ben Gurion Airport

A couple, Gal and Noy, reported being victims of a scam involving a purported airport parking service at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV). The pair left their car with the company for five days while on vacation, expecting a convenient service where their car would be parked in a long-term lot and returned upon their arrival. However, upon their return, they discovered their car was dirty, had very little fuel, and was missing personal items, including a charging cable and sunglasses.

Further investigation revealed that the car had been driven extensively during their absence. Dashcam footage captured daily trips, erratic driving, and even conversations from inside the vehicle. In one recorded instance, an individual mentioned being sent to a bakery in Shoham, which the couple later confirmed by finding pastry crumbs in the car. The company's contact person initially stated the matter would be investigated, but the couple reported receiving no further response.

The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) is actively combating such fraudulent operations. They warn the public against companies falsely advertising parking services at TLV, emphasizing that these services are not officially recognized. The IAA urges travelers to be cautious of seemingly attractive offers that may lead to distress and financial loss.
