Likud Accuses Lapid of Misleading Public on Defense Budget

The Likud party has strongly criticized opposition leader Yair Lapid regarding his statements about the defense budget. Likud asserted that Lapid is misleading the public, calling his claims "baseless and false." The party argued that higher-than-expected state revenues, attributed to the government's economic policy, have resulted in a lower-than-expected deficit. This situation, according to Likud, allows for an increase in the defense budget without raising taxes.

Likud also dismissed Lapid's claims about coalition funds and budgets allocated to the ultra-Orthodox sector. The party stated that the amounts mentioned by Lapid for these allocations are unprecedented and far higher than any previous figures. Likud accused Lapid of jeopardizing Israel's security for "cheap political considerations."
