First Baby of Jewish New Year Born in Israel's Poriya Medical Center
The first baby born in the new Jewish year 5787 was a girl, delivered at the Poriya Medical Center in Tiberias. The mother, Odaya Cohen Alishvili from the settlement of Odot, gave birth just after midnight. The baby was born at 39 weeks gestation.
Cohen Alishvili's contractions began after she arrived in Tiberias with her husband, Tal, and daughter, Noam, to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with her parents. The report was initially published by Walla.
