The Israeli military (IDF) conducted a targeted airstrike overnight in Khan Younis, Gaza, eliminating Mohammed al-Yazouri, identified as the commander of Hamas's Khan Younis Brigade and a senior figure in the organization's military wing. Security officials confirmed al-Yazouri was the intended target.
Saudi-owned newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported that Israel carried out the strike from the air as al-Yazouri was walking in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. The strike targeted a vehicle.
Al-Yazouri's elimination is considered a significant blow to Hamas's military capabilities in the southern Gaza Strip.
