IDF Simulates Large-Scale Terrorist Infiltration into Eilat

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently concluded a series of large-scale exercises simulating multi-front surprise attacks, spanning from Syria and Lebanon to Eilat and the Red Sea. A key scenario practiced in the southern theater involved hundreds of terrorists infiltrating the resort city of Eilat, seizing control of hotels and schools.

The exercises aimed to test the readiness of forces to handle extreme "edge case" scenarios and complex, mass-casualty events. In the Gaza Strip, reserve forces practiced responding to such scenarios, focusing on decision-making under pressure and transitioning from defense to offense.

One exercise, conducted by Division 80 with participation from the Air Force, Navy, and Division 96 fighters, specifically simulated the infiltration of hundreds of pro-Iranian and Houthi fighters into Eilat. The simulated attack included taking over hotels and schools, as well as targeting shopping and tourist centers.

In the West Bank, forces from the Judea and Samaria Division, including the Menashe and Ephraim brigades, conducted a joint exercise near the seam line. This drill, involving local authorities and emergency services, focused on improving operational response and defense in the area.

These drills are part of the IDF's ongoing efforts to enhance its defensive posture and operational capabilities across multiple fronts in preparation for potential future threats.
