Israel Completes Major Multi-Branch Defense Drill Near Eilat
Israeli security forces, led by the 80th Division and involving the Air Force and Navy, have concluded an extensive multi-branch exercise aimed at bolstering defense readiness in the Eilat and Arava region. The drill incorporated combat helicopters, missile ships, and numerous ground forces, simulating a rapid transition from routine to emergency operations and addressing dozens of complex scenarios simultaneously across multiple fronts.
During the exercise, forces practiced responding to extreme scenarios, including maritime incursions by vessels, hostage situations, rocket attacks, mass casualty incidents, and infiltrations into bases and civilian facilities such as hotels, schools, and beaches. Additionally, the 96th Division was unexpectedly deployed to a rapidly developing scenario involving a breach from the eastern border into the Dead Sea area.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that a thorough review of lessons learned from the exercise will be conducted to further enhance defense capabilities in the sector. The drill emphasized preparedness for a wide range of threats and the coordination between different military branches.
