Former Police Commander's Brother Missing After Entering Palestinian Village
Security forces launched an extensive search overnight for Yaniv Sardal, a 53-year-old resident of Ariel and the brother of a former commander of the Zevulun police station, who has been missing since Wednesday evening. After many hours of anxiety, security officials have currently ruled out the possibility of a kidnapping, and Sardal is classified as a missing person.
Security assessments indicate that Sardal entered the Palestinian village of Qira, near Qalqilya, on his own initiative. He was last seen on Wednesday evening in the vicinity of Ariel. Police and IDF forces have been searching for him since Wednesday night.
A joint command post has been established by the police, Shin Bet, IDF, and Israel Prison Service, employing technological means, intelligence gathering, and special units. The elite "Metzada" unit of the prison service has been activated, and a police helicopter is assisting in the search.
Sardal is described as approximately 1.78 meters tall, with black hair, dark brown eyes, and a slim to medium build. He was last seen wearing black shorts, a black shirt, and white flip-flops. The public has been asked to report any information regarding his whereabouts to the Ariel police station or the police hotline at 100.
