Refreshed Peugeot 408 Arrives in Israel with Enhanced Features

Lubinski, the importer of Peugeot in Israel, has begun marketing the updated Peugeot 408. The car is being introduced to the Israeli market in the high-end GT trim, featuring a mild hybrid engine, a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, and an optional five-year warranty.

The Peugeot 408 maintains its distinctive design, characterized by a sloping roofline towards the rear, a high driving position, and a body style that blends elements of a sedan and a crossover. The facelift introduces revised front and rear styling. Notably, the front end now boasts a new lighting signature with three slim, diagonal LED strips that mimic lion's claws and function as dynamic turn signals. These are connected by a full-width LED light bar. The illuminated lion emblem, exclusive to the GT trim in Israel, is now centrally positioned on the front. The main headlights are relocated lower in the bumper, integrated with black elements when off.

The rear also sees updates, with the Peugeot 408 being the first model to feature illuminated 'PEUGEOT' lettering at the back. This lettering is set within a transparent element spanning the width of the car, flanked by the three-claw LED signature. The vehicle continues to be manufactured at the Peugeot plant in Mulhouse, France.

Under the hood, the refreshed 408 is equipped with Stellantis' mild hybrid (MHEV) powertrain, delivering a combined 145 horsepower and 23.4 kgm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds, with a combined fuel consumption of 5.2 liters per 100 km (WLTP) and an emissions rating of 7. The GT trim includes a 10-inch touchscreen multimedia system with Hebrew interface, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker sound system, and four USB-C ports.

Additional features include keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, a combination of leather and fabric upholstery, and ambient LED lighting. The front seats offer electric adjustment, heating, and massage functions, with the driver's seat featuring AGR certification and two memory settings. The car also has an electric tailgate operable by a foot gesture, a panoramic sunroof with an opening shade, and three driving modes (Eco, Normal, Sport). It is equipped with four cameras providing a 360-degree view and a suite of active safety systems.

The Peugeot 408 GT MHEV is priced at 174,990 shekels in Israel. It comes with a standard three-year or 100,000 km warranty, which can be extended to five years or 120,000 km for an additional 990 shekels.
