National Insurance Institute Announces Payment Dates for Benefits

The National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) has announced upcoming payment dates for various benefits and insurance contributions. Employers and self-employed individuals are reminded that their insurance contribution payments are due on September 15th.

Following this, on September 20th, the Institute will disburse child allowances to eligible families. These monthly payments are for children up to age 18, subject to eligibility criteria. Starting January 1, 2026, the allowance amounts will be tiered based on the child's position in the family: NIS 173 for the first child, NIS 219 for the second through fourth children, and NIS 173 for the fifth child and subsequent children. Additionally, the National Insurance Institute operates the "Savings for Every Child" program, depositing NIS 58 monthly for each eligible child, with parents having the option to double this amount by contributing an additional NIS 58 from the child allowance.

Two days later, on September 22nd, the Institute will issue long-term benefits to a large number of Israelis. These benefits are designed for various population groups requiring ongoing support, typically for those unable to work or needing continuous assistance. Examples include disability pensions, old-age pensions, and survivor benefits. Unlike short-term benefits like unemployment, eligibility for these long-term payments is determined by law and continues as long as the conditions are met.
