Five Jerusalem Residents Charged in Plot for 2027 Terror Attacks
Israel's security forces have arrested five residents of Jerusalem suspected of planning terror attacks against Israelis and security forces. The Shin Bet, IDF, and police announced the arrests, stating that an indictment has been filed against the five for their involvement in terror activities.
Two of the suspects, Sabih Abu Sabih and Rashid Rishk, are identified as operatives of the "Shabab al-Aqsa" terror organization, which is linked to Hamas. The other three indicted individuals are Muhammad Abu Sabih, Muhammad Azmi Bakri, and Ahmed Azmi Bakri.
According to the indictment, the planned attacks were to take place in early 2027, targeting a restaurant in Modi'in and the Azaria checkpoint. The suspects allegedly acquired weapons in preparation for these attacks.
During the investigation, over 30 additional activists from Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria were arrested in connection with the broader case.
